FoEME led a six-day tour around the Jordan River Valley focused on the issue of the Politics of Water for a select group of community leaders and foreign media. Participants came from the UK, USA, Germany, France, Kenya, Italy and Australia. The tour was a pilot experience for FoEME to create "Ambassadors of the Jordan River" by bringing attention to both the plight of the river and how the politics of the Middle East conflict is impeding its rehabilitation.

This month FoEME convened the cross border Joint Steering Committee to advance work on the Jordan River Peace Park. The meeting marked the launching of the park's feasibility study. The study will research the implications of establishing the Peace Park for water, security and economic indicators. The meeting was attended by Israeli and Jordanian Mayors and Municipal Representatives, as well as community members from the surrounding areas and representatives from funding agencies including Green Cross and USAID. The feasibility study is being undertaken with the support of Green Cross and the UK Embassy in Tel Aviv.
Interest continues to build surrounding the Good Water Neighbors' Neighbor's Paths initiative. Numerous tours were undertaken in Jordan, Israel and the West Bank throughout the month including a FoEME led group of youth from Bethlehem to the Neighbor's Path in Jericho Municipality featured in the photo.

This month FoEME's report Climate Change: A New Threat to Middle East Security continued to spark public discourse throughout the Middle East. The report highlights the projected impact of climate change throughout the region, asserting that climate change will contribute to increased stress on the area's scarce water resources and is likely to further exacerbate the potential for conflict. Furthermore, the report provides recommendations for cross-border cooperation to prevent resource-based conflict.
