FoEME conducted a project concerning the environmental impacts of Trade Agreements, such as those in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Mediterranean Free Trade Zone (MFTZ) |

The aim of this project was to assess the environmental impacts of trade agreements and to democratize the decision making process.
The project involved research, lobbying and information dissemination.
FoEME promoted 3 levels of necessary changes in the way that trade agreements are reached:
- cooperating with the various governmental social ministries;
- parliamentary involvement
- public participation
